Dejana Lukac

Dejana Lukac, an artist with a background in art and education from Alberta College of Art and Design and the University of British Columbia, is currently based in Fernie, where she creates art and teaches in the Elk Valley. Originally from former Yugoslavia, her cultural roots deeply influence her work.
Having completed her Art degree, Dejana participated in two art residencies in New Zealand, focusing on surfboard art, installations, and jewelry. Her diverse artistic endeavors span silver jewelry, leatherwork, paintings, sculptures, and more. Exploring various mediums and materials, her art is sold in markets and soon to be available online.
Dejana's creations emerge from a blend of media and approaches, inspired by nature and the graffiti art culture. Departing from traditional art practices, she crafts abstract forms reminiscent of natural and urban elements. Her work serves as a tangible expression of her hands-on, intuitive process, capturing the essence of reconstructing and replicating natural phenomena.
